Subject: Farewell and Adjö...
It's been one heck of a rodeo these past nine years, and I leave with the sublime feeling of having done some of the best work of my career here. I will miss it. I will miss you. I've worked with so many generous and talented people at Qlik, many who have partnered with me to innovate solutions found nowhere else. I want to recognize a few:
- Kim Peretti, my long-ago first manager who recruited me to Qlik as an application developer and program manager (yes, really!) and enabled my path to success in those early years.
- Rich Kennealy, my interim manager for a blink in time back in 2019. Great leader, great listener, sorely missed.
- Nicole Boyd, my last manager (since all of three weeks ago!), who promises a smooth transition in the continued support of all Qlik Replay services.
- My Qlik Education colleagues, content developers, instructors (my heroes), and everyone in between. I would like to think that you all experienced a degree of skid-greasing due to the contributions I made, firstly with the LockLizard e-book program, Gilmore Global management, and eLearning production; and then later on with what eventually evolved into Qlik Replay.
- ...and most of all, those Qlik Replay stakeholders across the globe: As at all companies, a person can succeed only when his direct manager is present,
so it has fallen to you--my customers--to fill that void and to help push Qlik Replay on its path to success. I cannot begin to tell you what a privilege and what a joy
it has been collaborating with you. You and me together have pioneered low-ante digital communication at Qlik, unmatched by anyone in the industry:
- Turn-key vendor-free production for entire events such as Partner Summit 2021 and Qlik Partner Awards.
- Talking head "Beyond Zoom" interviews in HD.
- Professional quality on-site video captured at no cost to business centers (58 distinct titles at SKO2020 alone).
- The Why Qlik? video series on behalf of Recruiting.
- The record-once-customize-many flow of personalized video.
- The array of editing and troubleshooting services we provided.
- The development of a DIY approach to telepromptering.
- The development of a practical work flow for accurate non-machine captioning that respects real estate boundaries of content.
- The implementation at Qlik of OpenReel capture.
- One-off side projects like Mike's tour of the NYC office or Qlik Celebrates 2020 Graduates or ALDP 2016 or the infamous K&L Rapsters.
- Video rescue work that many of you know only too well. :-)
- And spanning it all the "You Start We Finish" value proposition that has lifted DIY video across the company, economically, nimbly, and free of vendor dependency.
